THE CONCEPT

Theatre is life and the beam of creativity emanates from it. The performing arts has come a long way and deserves to be celebrated through every available medium. It is of common notion that the theatre culture is dying, but then it is important that we see it as a dynamic art always changing in from and concept.

The theatre is a vibrant art and thrives all over the country in theatres, cinemas, arenas, in the streets, in festivals and all performing spaces. It is true that electronic media has introduced a new form of art; here is an attempt to capture the theatre and its essence on to street for the world to appreciate.

THE OBJECTIVE

Every day, several performances take place all over the country, be it dance, drama, music, acrobatics, drumming, ensembles and many. The objective of this programme is to project the true African heritage talent in the live theatre. It is an avenue to show case to millions of viewers the theatre and its essence still thrive..

The objective is also to provide for our audience a truly authentic African theatre experience on screen. We also seek to project the arts and its major players, actors, dancers, playwrights, poets, directors, and designers.

STYLE

The programme is billed for 45 minutes and in that duration, it will feature various segments of pure entertainment. The programme has an art in style that focuses on aesthetics and creative style of the various performance to be aired.

PRESENTATION

There will be a presenter to anchor the programme. He/she however plays a subtle role as their work is to link us with major segments of the programme. They may not necessarily do the introduction, as we will have narration in some instance. The presenters at least should be a celebrity that has good knowledge of the arts of the theatre.

THEATRE

This segment highlights major theatrical performances home and abroad as long as it is an African play, dance, music or poetry performance. It is a creative presentation of excellent theatre productions.

THE THESPIANS

This segment is one on one segment where we take in great theatre gurus. The likes of Wole Soyinka, Femi osofisan, ahmed Yerima, Wole oguntokun, Richard Mofe Damijo, Buki Ajayi Lycet will ne interviewed. They will share with us in-depth their sojourn in the world of theatre. It promises a heartfelt encounter with these artistes.

COMEDY

This segment is to create comic relief and will feature great Nigerian comedians like Omo Baba, Kofi, Basket mouth, etc.

LIVE STAGE MUSICAL PERFORMANCES

This segment will feature musical artist performing to a live band on stage.

SHOOT STYLE

The shoot style will be dexterous and of high quality. It will be short with high definition Cameras of broadcast quality. As the situation demands, good shot composition, well framed Camera angles.

The pictures will be warm and crisp. The intention will be to create bright and appealing pictures.

TARGET AUDIENCE.

The target audience is a general one. The concept cuts across all age group as a wide range of audience will appreciate and enjoy the programme.
